Frugal Food Carnival

Is the rising cost of groceries hurting your budget? Here is some help! Mary from the Blog "Owlhaven" http://owlhaven.wordpress.com/ has put together a Food Carnival for people to participate in. She has encouraged ladies to join together and put together 3 days worth of meals, calculate your costs and publish them! What fun! I decided to participate. Below is my 3 day's worth of meals, a couple of pictures and a few recipes. You can link to her blog through our blog site. I hope these are some help to you!

Day #3

Recipes:

Turkey Wraps
Flour Tortillas
Turkey or Ham, sliced thin
Leaf Lettuce
Grated Cheese
Tomatoes
BBQ Sauce and Ranch Dressing

Warm tortillas to make them soft. Mix dressing and BBQ sauce together (about half and half). Spread this on the tortilla. Sprinkle on cheese, chopped tomatoes and lettuce on top (be careful not to overfill!). Place about 2 slices of meat on tortilla, roll and cut in half. Serve immediately or chill for later.

Tator Tot Casserole

1 lb. ground beef, browned
1 onion, chopped and sauteed with beef
Mixed Veggies (can make your own or buy a prepared bag)
*corn, carrots, peas, greenbeans, diced potatoe
2 can cream of mushroom soup
1 bag of tator tots
2 cup cheddar cheese

Mix beef, onions, veggies, soup and cheese together. Place in 9X13 dish. Top with tator tots. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30-40 minutes or until bubbly in middle. Double the recipe and freeze one! Freezes nicely.

Smokehouse Spaghetti
1 lb. sausage, browned
1 1b. bacon, cooked till crisp (save drippings)
1 lb. spaghetti, cooked and drained
1 26 oz. jar spaghetti sauce of your choice
1 large onion , chopped fine
1 can mushrooms, sliced
2 cups motzerella cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese

Brown all meats, set aside. Sautee the onion in Bacon grease, drain on a paper towel. In large mixing bowl mix cooked spaghetti, meats, onions, mushrooms, spaghetti sauce. Mix well. In large baking dish with lid, pour half of spaghetti mix. Mix your cheeses and place half of the cheese mixture on this. Pour the remaining of the spaghetti mix ontop of the cheese layer. Top with remaining cheese. Place lid on and bake at 350 for 30-40 min or until hot through the middle. Serve. I have baked this in the crock pot on low for a couple of hours or in the microwave on a low setting, baked until hot.

Does your pretzel salad have Jell-O and cream cheese in it? If so that's a great salad! If not would you care to share what is in yours?

Thanks for sharing!
