Hail to the Chief!

During the month of March and April, a job opportunity opened up for Justin.  One that he knew that he could not pass up.  He applied for the job and got through the 1st process with an application and an initial interview.  He was contacted a couple of weeks later that he was offered another interview.  We were excited about that!  He was offered the job and the news became official during our week of vacation.  He is now employed by NIPSCO, a utility company in our area, as their Hydro Compliance Supervisor.  He will be watching over the paperwork  involved in the two local dams in our area.  He will oversee the dams security and compliance with the state and federal agencies.  We are all excited about this new adventure.  NIPSCO will be a great company to work for with many opportunities for Justin. Thankfully, we don't have to make a move with this new job.

All this change brings about bittersweet thoughts for Justin and myself.  Justin will be leaving a profession that we have known for 16 years (we've been married for 16yrs).  Law Enforcement is all that we have known.  There will be no more shelf of radios and flashlights in our laundry room.  There will be no more stacks of hats, uniforms and gear in our closet.  This will all be strange for awhile, but Justin is ready.  He is ready to be in the private sector which will be a little less stress.  Of course, all jobs have stress, but I believe that law enforcement is one of the higher stress jobs.

We are grateful to God for the different police jobs Justin has had.  He has learned a lot about himself and about others.  He has sacrificed a lot of time in training and working, but that has now all paid off.  I am thankful for the lessons that God has taught me over this time.  He taught me to less self-centered and not to worry.  Believe me, when I still hear sirens, my heart still picks up pace and an immediate prayers go up for my hubby!

We are thankful for all the people that we have met over the years, people that we would have never met had Justin not been a police officer.  God gave Justin many times to be a witness for HIS sake when people were hurt or at their lowest.

We are grateful that Delphi's mayor gave Justin the opportunity to be police chief (chief is an appointed position).  The past two years have been a wonderful experience for our family.  Justin made new contacts and learned even more about himself.  We will all miss the people in the Delphi City Building and are thankful for the memories made there.

So on we go on a new adventure.  A new chapter in our life.  We are thrilled and excited about what God has in store for us next!!
