Merry Christmas

Christmas Day has come and gone and it was a joy to experience Christmas Day as a family of 6!  I remember last year sitting Christmas morning looking forward to leaving in 10 days to get our daughter half way across the world.  What a great blessing to have us all sitting around Christmas morning reading Luke's account of Christ's birth.

Justin and I have started a tradition in our family for Christmas.  Instead of spending money on gifts for the kids to have sitting around the tree on Christmas morning, we take a surprise trip.  We fill up their stockings and get each one game to open on Christmas morning.  We then load up the car and take off for a Christmas day get-a-way.  This year we went to Caribbean Cove in Indianapolis.  It is an indoor water park and hotel.  We spent Christmas afternoon playing in the water and then spent the evening watching "A Christmas Story", eating finger foods that we brought, and playing their new games.  It is such a memorable event for the kids; one that won't break or be lost in corner in two months.  We find the kids really looking forward to their surprise trip.  I didn't take any pictures of the water park....didn't want to mess with a camera, sorry!!
