Thanksgiving Bunting

I decided (finally) what to send our new Ethiopian Pen Pals. I saw this Thanksgiving Bunting idea in the paper last week and thought that might be something special to make and send across the world to our newest friends. The kids helped me make it with each one taking part in the process. Abeba held and carried the fabric and ribbon through the store and home, Hannah and Eli helped sew the circles, Israel turned them inside out and Mommy sewed it all together. Each of us wrote one or two things on tags that we later attached with ribbon in between each half circle. We left half of the tags empty so that the Baer family could attach what they are thankful for. I was super pleased with how the bunting turned out and I just might make another for our home. I was able to do it all in an afternoon and evening with a break in between to make, serve and clean up dishes! That is my kind of project!

I know that Ethiopia does not celebrate Thanksgiving as we know it, but I think that we all need to remember just how much God has blessed us all- no matter where we are in the world!

Here are some pictures:

Don't forget to post what you are thankful for. I will be putting that together the week of Thanksgiving.

How cool! I love projects that can be wrapped up in a day! My attention span is only that long:)
