Getting ready.

We have been blessed by our family, Church and friends as we prepare for our trip to Ethiopia to bring "A" home. As we anticipate our court date and travel we have been collecting humanitarian aid and other items to take with us. Our family has donated tremendously to this effort, as well as our Church family. Last night our Church Ladies Group had a meeting to collect humanitarian aid for our trip.
Our oldest daughter thought that it would be a great idea to make necklaces to hand out to some of the older girls in the orphanages when we arrive in Ethiopia. She is creative in that way and is always thinking of things to benefit her sister that is waiting in Ethiopia, she really seems to have a heart for orphans.
Here she is (in red on the right) with her friends putting together some of the necklaces. It has been great to see how the Church has been coming together to join with us on our adoption journey. It is our hopes that our experience will ignite a passion within our church family to be even more involved in orphan care. It is truly our belief that the Church has an obligation to "visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world" (James 1:27)

May God richly bless you and your family! Don't forget to take along some Gospel tracts with you as you travel. Good News publishers have some really nice ones. (...even a few cartoon tracts by Eddie Eddings that might be worth looking into)

It is absolutely amazing the way people rally around. It must be a tremendous blessing to have so much support! It's also great to see that your daughter is thinking of ways she can contribute, and share with the girls in Ethiopia.
